After looking at this video it is time for NY to stand up or else our water will be gone forever and many lives will die.
The benefit of all this is that "geologists estimate it's enough to supply the entire East Coast for 50 years." (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/21/fracking-epa-takes-new-lo_n_653903.html). Now this can be true, but how so if people die due to the gasses contaminating water.
Another problem is that Gas companies have the right not to be checked meaning no one has to inspect them. They don't want no one to inspect them because they know what they are doing.
According to the next video, she feels as if Gas companies are taking advantage of new york because our economy is so bad and since the government see's the dollar signs, they would not care about the risks of it. Its money over Health.

Effects On Our Society
WATER
In the process of Fracking, A tube goes down into the grown and minor explosion then occurs to open up the rock so the gas can come out. During that part, mostly of all the gas goes into the pipe. The rest does not which means it goes into the water system. This is proven due to this video....

Fracking needs billions of gallons of water for the next 15 years so if all the water gets contaminated then we will lose our resources of water too. Not only that, this will cause farming and hunting to decrease because those things need water. It is like a domino effect if drilling continues.
NOISE
A Couple from Cortland said “They’re at it 24-7, and while it’s not exceptionally loud, it’s very repetitive.” This demonstrates that this process is very loud if drilling is in your neighborhood. Another thing is that gas companies do not tell you the accidents that can occur such as loud explosions and fires.
LANDOWNERS
Gas companies wont take blame for damages quickly. Citizens usually don't report the cases because the court cases drag out for long.
HARMFUL TO HEALTH:

Gastrointestinal and liver
Respiratory System
Skin, eye and sensory organ.

WHAT IS FRACKING?
WHAT IS FRACKING
Fracking is Unnatural Gas drilling. Oil companies are drilling in places where ever the Marcellus shale rock is at. The reason for this is because in that rock, there is natural gas and since we are now running out of resources of oil, getting that gas will benefit Everyone. The problem about fracking is the process of how it is done.
WHERE IS IT HAPPENING
Fracking also known as Natural Gas drilling is mostly occurring right now in Pennsylvania, west Virginia, Texas and ohio. Is this picture, the places located brown and dark blue is where fracking is happening.
